Owing to the Inclemency of the weather on Wednes.
day evening, the Concert for the benefit of the wid
ows at Abraham’s Home was postponed until this
evening, when, It Is hoped, the known talents of the
artists and the excellent programme presented for
the occasion will attract a full house. The worthy
charity to which the proceeds are to be devoted ap
peals strongly to the generosity of our clllzens.
Bold Robbery—On Tuesday night last, the store
of the well-known firm ol Israel R Sealey A Cos.,
wholesale liquor dealers, 207 Bay street, was broken
Into and sl6 in cash stolen, with some other small
articles. The thelves evidently belonged to the total
abstinence persuasion, or were averse to mixing li
quors, or It Is possible that being under the Influence
of bad Uquor at the time (for it Ls said there are vile
decoctions that will make a man steal the spoons
from his own table) the rascals dared not astonish
their stomachs with the sparkling Farre, oymre old
Rye, which confronted them. Being theive3 by per
fesslon, they may have feared the influence of good
liquors upon their morals.
