best horizontal piano, is adjudged to A.
Babcock, of Boston, for specimen No. 327,
which is a horizontal piano, made for A.
Mackey, of Boston. It has received the
high approbation of the judges. Every part
of its interior mechanism naa the higheat
finish, aud ita tone and touch are ezcellent.
The strings are all of steel wire, the lowest
octave being covered with flattened wire.
It entitles ita maker to the Silver Medal,
having been considered the best of the four
square pianos, which sre all very good.
