Politics Is “biling” now.
m
Dooly’s a live political issue this
week.
The expected has happened and the
Dooly candidates we have with us.
Some very effective work has already
been done by the Cordele Board of
Trade.
(iuerry’g light will not be hid under
m bushel. It seems to be. his purpose to
let shine, with the most powerful lemie
turned on Terrell.
The delightful climate of Dooly is
felt in the far off state of Minnesota.
Read the letter of Mr. Halvarson else
where in the Sbntinkl and behold what
privileges we enjoy in this section of
Georgia.
■ Our farmers might learn a valuable
lesson on meat raising by takings peep
at that champion Berkshire pig owned
by (». B. Parker, of Cordele. Only four
months and eleven days old and weighs
120 pounds.
Terrell has fired both barrels of his
gun, the first at Canton in Cherokee,
the second at Vienna in this county, and
his friends do say that it was loaded
with buckshot.
Terrel], at age 18, “plowed a red
mule in a corn field.” Guerry, at age
18, “plowed two mules and a horse.”
Wonder what Estill did, at age 10? and
if farmer Smith, at age 8, didn’t break
a bob-tailed bull?
Tuesday morning of this week, Guer
ry was in Vienna while Terrell was in
Cordele—only nine miles apart and
both in Dooly county. The former was
“elocuting,” the latter “circumlocu
ting.” There’s a phone line between
the two places but neither enquired of
(lie others health.
The old idea that a newspaper must
champion violently the personal ambi
tion of a candidate for governor, claim
the victory when he wins, file a first
lien on him and then boss him after be
is governor, is playing out, and ought
to play out; because it is harmful to
every principle that republics hold
dear.—Macon Telegraph.
LET ’EH FLOURISH.
Cordele is well located. The ground
upon which we walk is favored with
sunshine and rain, with a climate that
cannot be excelled. Hundreds of peo
ple know the truth of this statement
and thousands will realize it later.
The Cordele Board of Trade, just or
ganized on a substantial business basis,
better than any other way it is the me
dium through which the day will be
hastened when the outside world-thc
thousands—will know of a truth that
our city, and our county, are the fore
most, the best, the most flourishing.
Long live the Board. Let the city
grow, the county flourish and add fame
to the grand old Empire State of the
South.

He Takes the Sentinel and Thinks He
Will See Georgia In the
Near Future.
He lives at Hallock, Minnesota,
and wrote for a copy of the Sen
TINKL. His letter appeared in the
Sentinel three weeks ago and
among other things in that letter
Mr. L. Halvarson said: “I am m
terested in the South and I will
ask you for a sample copy of your
paper. I may subscribe when I
get the rates. I suppose you have
summer there now, but let me tell
you, we have 80 below zero here
every other day and the wind at
50 miles per hour.”
Three back numbers of the Sen
tinel were forwarded to Mr. Hal
varson and a personal letter was
written him by the editor. In re
sponse, under date of Feb. 17, the
editor of Sentinel has the follow
ing letter:
“I have your letter of the 11th
inst., also the copies of the Sen
TINEI i • I came to the conclusion
when I read your paper that I had
better move, and I think I will soe
Georgia soon. I enclose you a
dollar—let the Sentinel keep on
coining.
Let the secretary of the Cordele
Board of Trade, and others who
will, write to Mr. Halvarson.

It is a sad thing to see fine
fruit trees spoiled by the blight.
You can always tell them from
the rest. They never do well
afterwards but stay small and
sickly.
It is worse to see a bliuht O
strike children. Good health
is the natural right of children.
But SO me of them don't get
their rights. While the rest
grow big and strong one stays
small and weak.
Scott’s Emulsion can stop
I that blight. There is no
reason why such a child should
stay small. Scott’s Emulsion
is a medicine with lots of
strength in it—the kind of
