Don’t wind up in pain city after vacation
Going on vacation should be the
most enjoyable part of the summer,
but for many it can be the
beginning of a long and miserable
visit with pain. It never fails,
during the summer months I get
calls from seemingly healthy
people who have serious pain
attacks after going on a family trip.
Conditions range from neck pain to
back pain and headaches.
Sometimes the patient will tell me
they never had anything like it
before. Other times the discomfort
has a familiar feel to it. In any
event, the conversation takes the
same twist every time. “But
doctor, I haven’t done anything to
cause this.” Well, have you?
Let’s take a look at what our
bodies go through on a typical trip.
First of all we tend to drive long
distances we’re not used to. This
requires sitting in a somewhat
uncomfortable seat for hours on
Free Hearing Tests Set Fop The Peppy Apea
Those who HEAR but have trouble UNDERSTANDING
conversation are urged to have this modern electronic test to
find out if their loss is one of the many that can be helped.
Everyone not hearing dearly should have a hearing test. Even
people who wear aids, or those who believe nothing can be
done for them, should be tested. Today, most hearing problems
can be helped. No hearing problem should ever be ignored.

end. Usually we make the
minimum amount of stops. We
seem to think that one excessive
stop would mean we get to the
beach ten minutes later and just
ruin our whole vacation. Once
there, we have to unpack our over
packed suitcases and then sleep in
unfamiliar beds. In the meantime,
our bodies are trying to
accommodate to all these changes.
Change is the key to these
problems. The body and more
specifically, the spine cannot adapt
to so many changes. Sometimes
just the long drive is enough to do
us in. The additional changes prove
to be too much. Remember, if
your good to your spine, it’ll return
the favor.
